Our team's 2007 survey work has discovered a radiation of a new lineage of the rare beetle family Hydroscaphidae. These beetles (Below), barely the size of a pinhead at 1.2 mm, live in algae that grows along rock seeps an waterfalls. See the video taken at the moment of discovery showing of the habitat below in the jungles of Venezuela's Amazonas State. More that 10 new species of this family, including three new genera, have been found by our team of scientists.
